Community Meeting - April 7th 6.30 pm

Thursday April 7th is the date of the Aldinga Kitchen Garden Community Meeting, to be held in the school courtyard/library between 6.30-7.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along for a drink and bite to eat and hear about the exciting Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and the impact it is already having on our school.

We'd also love to meet anybody who would be able to help the program really get off the ground at Aldinga Beach R-7 school.

Hope to see you there!

The Kitchen has started

We are really excited to see that our kitchen area is finally under construction and due to be completed by the middle of the school year and ready to host cooking lessons in term 3. John Garas Constructions are undertaking the work under the guidance of architect David Kilpatrick and the team is making good progress, with all the demolition complete and service trenches being dug. Stay tuned to our blog to find out the latest on our building phase!

Welcome One and All!

Welcome to the Aldinga Beach R-7 School Kitchen Garden Blog. We are proud participants in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation program that educates children and the community about the virtues of good food, as well as the skills to grow it and prepare it. We live for the foundation motto of 'Grow, Harvest, Prepare, Share' and we believe that this maxim embodies the philosophy of our Kitchen Garden program at Aldinga beach R-7 School.

We are situated on the coastal fringe of the Fleurieu Peninsula and Aldinga has a long history of agriculture and viticulture, the spirit of which is certainly flourishing within our school at the moment. So, stay tuned to the blog to keep track of our growth and learning through the Kitchen Garden program.
