The Kitchen kicks off...

Finally, after a wait that seemed like an eternity, our kitchen is finished and open for action. We have been so pleased with the end result - check out the other pics in the Kitchen photos page via the link on the right hand side. The kitchen really is the jewel in the crown of our newly re-developed building and we could not be happier with what we have ended up with. With 6 sinks, four ovens, 3 electric and 3 gas cook tops, plus fridges, massive amounts of storage and a bright, well lit contemporary space, we have created an asset to our school community that will serve up the benefits of healthy home grown food for many years to come.

Thankyou Kitchenaid....

Every chef dreams of having an iconic piece of kitchenware in their kit and now thanks to the wonderful folk at Kitchenaid, the Aldinga School Community can now live the dream with the donation of a beautiful appliance - A brand new Kithcenaid stand mixer....and we can't wait to sample the tasty treats prepared in this little number....

The Orchard Commences

Over the last few weeks, a small but dedicated team has been working on the construction of the orchard and wall in the Junior Primary Playground. We have been working under the wise supervision and guidance of Helen McGrace of Stoneartists at Aldinga Township who has been pivotal in getting the job done! We have also started planting the first fruit trees and are about to add a number more thanks to the genenrous donation of Blue Cottage Almonds in Willunga. The fruit trees are just about to burst into life and we look like having a good season to get them healthy and established in rich and life giving soil provided by Marty Vaher, a well known local supplier of energised and healthy soil and composts. Thanks Marty for helping us get growing! Miss Branford's class has also been busy creating stepping stone pavers for the orchard and we look forward to seeing them finished off and looking great soon!
A bit of a mud pit at the moment, but soon to be our productive orchard!

THANKS TO OUR LATEST SUPPORTERS

We are really happy to recognize the support of Maryke and the Crew from Flour Power Breads who have donated $200 towards the program. Maryke is a former parent of students at Aldinga Beach and we appreciate her help in putting money towards the program which will go towards buying equipment for our baking and breadmaking station in the new kitchen! Thanks heaps guys and we encourgae all of our students and families to get to the Willunga Farmer's Market every Saurday to try the great range of tasty bread from Flour Power.

We also continue to recieve great support from Nikki Herewane and the Aldinga Timber and Hardware family (see link in our supporters page) who have managed to rustle up a bix box of seeds and other equipment from their suppliers for our garden which will be really helpful in establishing our spring and summer crops. Thanks guys and we appreciate your support and friendly service!
